I feel like it’s been forever since I got on here and just filled you all in with what’s going on around Sunset Ave lately. I can’t believe how fast this winter has gone by and Spring is just around the corner…as well as the arrival of our little boy! I’m officially 8 months and it still doesn’t feel real. I have pinch me moments mixed with mini panic attacks almost daily…which I’m hoping is common lol. Here are a few random updates…
Nursery progress:
The nursery isn’t yet complete but we have all the bigger items purchased. I’m working with a few companies on our reveal and I literally cannot wait to show you guys the final product! So far we’ve added some new lighting, blinds, storage baskets and I’m currently trying to narrow down the decor and details. One of the things I’ve been trying to find is a new bedspread for our full size bed we have in the nursery. I want to keep it up there for practicality purposes but make it feel like part of the space and overall feel of the room. Right now the white bedding we have is little too girly and shabby chic for our rustic, outdoor adventure themed nursery;)
Maternity Outfits:
I refuse to purchase new maternity clothes at this stage in the game so I’ve been having to get creative with repeats of some items my friend let me borrow and mix in lots of leggings and oversized tops I already had. I have to say, I’m still loving dressing this bump, even as challenging as it’s getting as I get bigger and bigger. I really think I’m gonna miss it once it’s gone;)
Pregnancy Update:
I’ve been pretty lucky so far (knock on wood)…my pregnancy has been normal and baby boy is already measuring over 4 lbs! We got to see his little face at our last 3D ultrasound and it was so surreal. I did fail my glucose test but luckily passed the 3 hour one. If any of you have to take the 3 hour, first of all, it’s not as bad as everyone says. My friend recommended I bring my laptop to watch tv shows or a movie and it was great advice. I have had some crazy lower back/muscle pain to the point where I can barely walk, so I started physical therapy as well as prenatal yoga just to help stretch and build strength and ease the pain a little and not have to limp around everywhere. The waddle is enough without adding a limp to the mix haha! I wish I started prenatal yoga earlier in my pregnancy. I couldn’t recommend it more. I go to one hosted at a local pediatrics office. the instructor is a nurse as well and there are only 6 women total in the class, so it’s perfect for a yoga newbie like me.
Coming Up…
We have my baby shower coming up this weekend and I am so excited to celebrate with our friends and family. My best friend is graciously hosting at her house and from the invitations alone, I know this will be a baby shower I’ll never forget. I’ll definitely make sure to snap lots of pics and share all of the details with you guys.
We shot some maternity pics a few days ago with a photographer friend of mine. We leaned towards a more casual and intimate at home life style type shoot…I knew a maternity shoot is something I wanted to do, even if it was just a few photos to remember this time in our lives, so I’m so excited we got to do these with my talented friend. Of course I’ll be sharing all of those here as well as soon as we get them back, but in the mean time here’s a little sneak peek she sent me:)
Anyways, I think that’s about it! So much more to share in these next few months and I’m so grateful for this little community to share our lives with.
Are there any blog posts you guys would like to see? How we’re prepping for baby? What’s on my registry? Just let me know and I’d be happy to answer any questions!
xoxo Layla
